Via Via Artisan Bakery Yogyakarta: From Baguette To Rye Bread

Via Via is actually a restaurant located in Prawirotaman area, home for travelers. It's renowned for its organic and non-MSG food. I especially favor their international menu such as mezze platter, sandwiches, and For some menus, they use their own bread. Recently I found out that they opened a bakery, also in south not too far from Prawirotaman. Via Via Artisan Bakery, the place is not extensive but quiet decent with few seats facing the window. Ordered a banana cake, soft and cakey, sweet enough to my taste. The top layer is made from whole wheat flour, dense and a slightly chewy, raisins and almonds upgraded it to higher stage. For a huge fan of bread like I am, won't go home without a bag of hearty rye bread and baguette, well I brought home multi-grain and sourdough bread that are incredible for sandwich and salad.

The thing about being in this city with it's huge amount of foreign tourists and so expats, the demand of "non-local" food is relatively high. This place is definitely one that will stand for long, providing delicate western style bread for regular customers and occasional visitors like me. A precise choice for a brief stop as they also serve coffees. While in Jogja, it's a place to grab some bread and go.
