Naan Bread (without yeast)

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup yogurt, or use vegan yogurt
  • 2 tbsp milk, or dairy free milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda 
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp light olive oil
  • 1 tbsp preferred sweetener, I used coconut nectar
  • 2/3 cup water or as needed
  1. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. 
  2. In a bowl mix the yogurt, water, olive oil, sweetener, and milk. 
  3. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together until form a dough, knead for 5 to 10 minutes. Let it rest in a covered bowl for 2 hours. 
  4. Roll your dough, place it on hot pan, partly cook both side.
  5. Using tongs, place the naan on fire, cook until brown and a little charred
  6. Apply some butter, ghee, or garlic oil.
